Invicta Racing Team Principal, James Robinson, says the Norfolk-based team are hoping to carry the momentum of success in Silverstone into Round 9 of the 2025 FIA Formula 2 season in Belgium.

The reigning Teams Champions scored their first win of the season in Britain, with Leonardo Fornaroli winning the Sprint Race on Saturday, ending his own four-year drought that stretched back to his Italian F4 days.

That win was backed up by Czech driver Roman Stanek securing a podium finish in third, before Fornaroli picked up sixth in a wet Feature Race on Sunday.

The 24-point haul closed the gap to leaders, Campos, who were Invicta’s rivals in the 2024 title battle, by 17 points.

Robinson’s team are now just 20 behind their Spanish rivals, but are fifth in the standings behind DAMS, Hitech and MP Motorsport.

The team boss said he’s looking forward to Spa, where “anything can happen”.

“Spa is a real highlight of the season,” he said.  “[It’s] an iconic circuit that pushes both drivers and teams to the limit. The combination of high-speed corners, elevation changes and unpredictable weather means anything can happen and we will need to be ready to adapt.

“After a strong performance at Silverstone, the team is feeling positive and we’ll look to continue this momentum into the weekend.”

The team will be aiming to continue boosting 20-year-old Fornaroli’s title push, with the Italian just 18 points adrift of championship leader Richard Verschoor.

Robinson told InsideF2 at Silverstone that Stanek needed to be ‘on the front foot’ more often, saying the 21-year-old has the ability to fight at the front in F2, week in, week on.

He’ll be hoping his driver can reproduce his Silverstone Qualifying performance of fourth place, which Robinson says it vital to helping Stanek achieve successful weekends.
