The FIA has now confirmed that Sochi Autodrom will host a Formula 1 weekend which will include Formula 2 on September 25-27.
As we know the 2020 season in Formula 2 is well underway and what a great start to the racing season we have had across all categories.
The latest announcement has come directly from FIA Formula 2 CEO Bruno Michel whom stated,
“This announcement is very good news. First of all, it means that we now have ten rounds confirmed for 2020. That’s very positive for everyone involved in the Championship.”
Interestingly this year for Russian race fan’s the grid has three drivers to represent them for the first time.
“For this reason as well, it’s great to be bringing F2 to Sochi.” said Michel.
Formula 3 Champion and current Formula 2 rookie Robert Shwartzman is currently leading the charge in the Championship which will continue this weekend in Silverstone for the fourth round of the year.
Both Nikita Mazepin and Artem Markelov will both also be delighted to bring their home Grand Prix onto the calendar.
