Spain Feature Race winner Jak Crawford says Round 6 of the FIA Formula 2 season was the ‘perfect start’ to a run of three rounds in three weekends.
The American driver used strategy to get himself ahead of pole-sitter Paul Aron in the Hitech machine before holding off MP Motorsport’s Franco Colapinto.
Crawford, 19, said: ““I’m so pleased to get my first Feature Race win in Formula 2, to cap off an excellent weekend for the whole team.
“It’s the perfect way to go into a very busy schedule that we have coming up, with four events in the next five weeks, where we will look to have more results like this as a team,” he added.

The Aston Martin Academy driver said he was ‘thrilled’ to be sharing the podium with teammate Juan Manuel Correa, who returned to an F2 podium for the first time since 2019.
He also praised the work of the team back at their base near Le Mans.
“Everyone back at the workshop has been working so hard to fix our qualifying issues, and we’ve done that this weekend to help us take an awesome haul of points,” Crawford said.
With four rounds over the next five weekends, its crucial to have momentum and DAMS have made the best start possible, something Team Owner Charles Pic is delighted about.
The Frenchman said: “We looked strong all weekend and I’m so pleased to have Jak stand on the top step of the podium as well as JM in third.
“There’s been a lot of hard work behind the scenes to improve, especially in qualifying and in this event it all came together for a great outcome.”
