After a difficult, weather-affected Feature Race in Belgium, Roman Stanek has become the third winner after both Alexander Dunne and Arvid Lindblad suffered post-race penalties.
With Dunne leading from start to finish, the race ended with the Irishman taking the win and seizing the championship lead. He was followed by Lindblad and Stanek. However, after a call to the stewards, Dunne was penalised and dropped to P10.
As eyes turned to Red Bull junior Lindblad, the FIA called for the driver and the team representative to attend a hearing on a breach of technical regulations.
The Campos Racing representative attended without Lindblad, and all four tyres were found to be under the minimum wet tyre pressures. More information can be found within the FIA’s official decision documents.
The breach in regulations left Lindblad to face a disqualification, losing his inherited race win to Invicta Racing’s Stanek. This meant Invicta Racing seized both race wins after Leonardo Fornaroli’s Sprint Race win on Saturday.
This win is the second win for Stanek in his career, with Miyata securing his first ever podium behind him, and Luke Browning completing the third place spot.
The FIA has declared this to be the final race classification, with no more race penalties to come.
This final classification means Fornaroli takes the championship lead by three points, with Dunne dropping to fourth and Lindblad back to seventh. The drivers will all be looking to regain these points going into next weekend’s race in Budapest, Hungary.
