Roman Stanek finished third in what was a chaotic Silverstone F2 Sprint race for the Czech driver with many battles. He finished behind Sebastián Montoya and his Invicta team mate, Leonardo Fornaroli, making it a double podium on home soil for the British team.
Their joint results promoted Invicta Racing from fifth to third in the teams’ championship standings, moving them ahead of DAMS and Hitech.
For Sunday’s Feature Race, Stanek starts fourth on the grid, three places higher than he did for the reverse grid Sprint and only one place shy of another podium finish.
However, despite their blistering pace on Saturday, Invicta might have to factor in some wet weather and more variables in strategy for the Feature Race.
In the post race press conference, InsideF2 asked Stanek whether a wet race would suit him and his team, or if he would prefer the conditions to stay dry:
“From P4 it would not be so bad because the visibility would be still quite okay.
“Last year here I came from last to P8 in the Sprint Race so it’s been quite good for me here in the wet. I don’t mind because in the end we can’t control it. We will do our best.”
