Rodin Motorsport’s Martinius Stenshorne continued his strong start to his first full FIA Formula 2 season by qualifying third in Miami.
The Norweigian driver finished only 0.050s behind Kush Maini’s pole position time and 0.017s behind Rafael Camara in second, beating his Rodin teammate Alex Dunne who was fourth.
Stenshorne was positive about his performance and thanked the team after they “did some good changes” following the only practice session.
“Throughout the whole qualifying we had great pace coming from FP, we were a bit behind.
“Together with the team, we did some good changes, so the car was really good to drive,” he said.
With Miami track temperatures expected to be very high, Stenshorne stated that it was a challenge to manage the temperature of the tyres.
“Even for one lap it’s not always so easy with the super soft compound in this heat, but I think we did well,” the 20-year-old said.
He added that degradation of the tyres during the races will be “quite high”.
The Sprint Race takes place this Saturday 10 AM local time, 3pm UK time with the Feature Race taking place on Sunday 12:30 PM local time and 5:30 PM UK time.
