The Colombian racer is back to business, after a two-month break, spent the time recovering from a hand injury.
On her first appearance in Abu Dhabi with the brand new livery, the sole female driver on the FIA F2 grid revealed her “hand is feeling good, and is not bothering her”, even after a weekend spent karting.
The weekend did not start in the best of ways for the Charouz racing driver.
“We had a messy session with a red flag and were not able to push on the first lap. I think this is one of my best qualifyings in terms of time”, claimed Tatiana.
Being used to more complex tracks, she admitted the Abu Dhabi circuit is a,
“very different than what she is used to”, and expressed her doubts about the ability of the track to offer proper “racing opportunities”.
“It has a very different flow and energy, but I kind of like it”.
The extremely warm track temperatures of the Middle East located circuit, and their ability to manage the tyre compounds, were also noted by the 29-year old, who recognises the impact this could and likley will have on the racing this weekend.
The unfamiliarity with the track and its unique features did not intimidate the Colombian, who revealed she is expecting to “see some cool racing, both tomorrow and on Sunday”.
