Ticktum’s sights set on maiden Feature Race win
Dan Ticktum is hoping that he’ll be able to convert third on the grid tomorrow to his first Formula 2 Feature Race win.
The British driver achieved his maiden F2 win in the Sprint Race on the first weekend at Silverstone and was disqualified after his second Sprint Race victory at Monza. He is yet to take victory in a Feature Race.
After qualifying he said: “I’d love to get a win in a Feature Race to be honest. That would be good way of doing it, I know it’s not the last round, but in the last couple of rounds.
“I think the team deserve it. We’ve worked very hard over this season. It’s been a very tough one for all of us. I’m just going to do my best.”

Qualifying in Bahrain proved to be incredibly close with only 0.027 seconds between third and sixth, with Callum Ilott taking Pole by 0.391 seconds ahead of Felipe Drugovich in second.
The British driver initially sat fifth on the timing sheets, but he managed to improve after the red flag up to third.
However, the chaotic nature of the practice session meant that he has had very little time to adjust to the car after a two month break.
Ticktum: “It was just absolute carnage. No one was getting out of the way on your push laps, everyone was causing red flags, people spinning…I did one lap I think in 45 minutes.”
This weekend should prove to be interesting, with the 18-inch tyres providing a challenge for many drivers on the grid and with very different conditions to what teams normally expect in Bahrain, which usually holds its race in March.
Although the Williams Academy driver is no longer in the title fight, he’ll be looking to impress as rumours of who will be on the F2 grid in 2021 have already started.
Will Ticktum be able to take his maiden F2 Feature Race win?
