After the final W Series round in Europe, insideF2 spoke to Nerea Martí. Her race didn’t go as well as she would’ve hoped after crashing out due to making contact with her teammate.
Q: Tough race for you, I know we should’ve been able to do this under better circumstances. What happened out there? Could you describe the incident with Belen [García] and then the spin at the beginning?
A: “I spun at the beginning of the formation lap. I was trying to find the grip on the track and it was really difficult because the conditions were really really difficult with the slicks.
But yeah, I started from P4 which was okay but then I had a collision with Jamie [Chadwick] and I went off the track. And then Belen and [Abbi] Pulling overtook me.
So then in Turn 5, I had a collision with Belen. But yeah it’s okay, we can’t do anything, sometimes these things don’t depend on me and this race I think is this. Take the good things, learn from the bad things and push forward to Singapore”
Q: Did you have any damage to your car after the incident?
A: “Yes, we had damage on the left-front, first with Jamie and then the collision on the rear with Belen the car was not good”.
Q: That was a very difficult race for you, but looking forward to Singapore, are you excited about that race?
A: “I like it because before they were telling me really good things about the track. I need to learn the track I need to work on. I have time now to work with the team, physically and mentally. This was the first weekend I didn’t take points so let’s hope that Singapore and hope it will be better and I am working for that”.
