Trident ready to be back on track
The FIA Formula 2 Championship will be back running at Sakhir this weekend as the Bahrain circuit for the 2020 F2 finale.
Team Trident drivers Roy Nissany and Marino Sato have shown some pace over the last few rounds, while Roy himself was gaining F1 experience on track. The pair have been working hard for the team to finish on a high note at this final race of the 2020 year.
Nissany ended up close to the points zone in the Sprint Race last weekend, while Sato barely missed the top-10 in a convincing run.
The Bahrain track this weekend will be completely different as a challenge for the drivers on the grid as we race on what is referred to as the “Outer Circuit”.
The configuration is a semi-oval, with a predominance of right-hand corners expected to produce specific tire degradation and huge slipstreams for overtaking. This will be key in strategy this weekend. The Feature Race will run on a 48-lap distance, while the Sprint Race will be held over 34 laps.
Giacomo Ricci, the Team Manager at Trident said;
“This weekend we will be facing an exciting and unprecedented challenge. We will race on a configuration that has never been used at Sakhir, so we will discover it lap after lap. It will be important to understand the ins and outs of it quickly, and that will allow us to make a difference. Last weekend, our drivers showed steady improvement which makes us confident for the final round of the season. The goal for Team Trident s to score points with both drivers and make a step forward in the team classification.”
