Trident Motorsport Team Manager Giacomo Ricci believes Round 8 of the 2022 FIA Formula 2 Championship is an opportunity to return to the team’s early-season form.
Ricci’s team failed to score points in either race at Silverstone, with Dutchman Richard Verschoor finishing a best of 10th in the Sprint Race.
Verschoor described his Sprint Race as “eventful” but also said the team had struggled in the British midlands, while Williams felt he made the most of tricky conditions in Silverstone.
Now looking ahead to Austria, Ricci says: “We can build on the positive aspects of last week in England.
“I am confident we will take a step forward and bring home valuable points.”
While Ricci is confident, he added: “As always, we will have to be perfect and extract the best from each session.”
Trident has endured an up and down season, with Verschoor, 21, winning the first Sprint Race of the season in Bahrain, with one other podium in Jeddah’s Feature Race and two further points-scoring results.
Australian driver Calan Williams has just one top 10 finish – a fourth place in Jeddah.
As a result, Trident is ninth in the Teams’ standings, 13 points ahead of Campos, who’ll replace the injured Ralph Boschung with Spanish driver Roberto Mehri for the Austrian round.
