Ugo Ugochukwu will switch to Italian F4 next season with PREMA after driving to third place and the rookie title in British F4. 

The McLaren junior enjoyed a successful first season racing in cars taking two wins including a superb drive in the wet at Brands Hatch Indy for Carlin.

The 15-year-old also raced for PREMA at four events across ADAC German F4 and Italian F4, Ugochukwu took a victory at Red Bull Ring in the Italian series.

Ugochukwu said he is delighted to be driving for PREMA next season: “I am super happy to be racing with PREMA again in 2023. 

“Everyone made me feel very welcome this year. I go along well with the team, and I think we are working well together. The races I did in 2022 were very positive and I’m looking forward to improving on that next year.”

The American also drove to an excellent victory at Knockhill in a peerless drive at Scotland’s only race circuit.

The PREMA Team Principal Angelo Rosin was pleased with Ugochukwu’s progress in 2022 and anticipates him having a successful future ahead.

“In the first few races he did with us, Ugo quickly got up to pace and his progression was very impressive. 

“We think he has a brilliant future ahead, and we look forward to working together in 2023 to see where that evolution will bring. The potential is definitely there, we want to keep the commitment and push for the best possible results together.”

The New York native will compete in additional events including the five F4 UAE rounds in early 2023 alongside a full campaign in Italian F4.

Ugochukwu has joined Ferrari Driver Academy member James Wharton at the Italian team  and they look to defend there Teams’ championship title.

The seven-round campaign will begin at Imola on the 21-23 of April and includes trips to Spa-Francorchamps and Paul Ricard. is your home for Formula 2
