In the wet Sprint Race in Barcelona, Richard Verschoor was one of the first drivers to choose to gamble on slick tyres.
The front-runners waited until the Safety Car to make the decision but Verschoor believes that without the pause in green flag conditions, he timed it perfectly and would’ve made up more positions.
“I think it was a good call to go to slicks, it’s a bit of a shame we got [the] Safety Car because I think otherwise we would’ve jumped two or three cars. It’s a bit of a shame, on the other hand I think we did jump one or two cars, I think it was okay in the end.”
“I like the excitement of going out on a decently wet track.”
InsideF2’s Jim Kimberley also asked Verschoor about his hopes for tomorrow however, he wasn’t so confident:
“Today the laps we did in the dry, we went through the tyres quite quickly so I’m not too confident. However, we are making some good changes right now so I hope that we go in the right direction for tomorrow.”
He will start Sunday’s Feature Race from P12, just outside the points paying positions.
