Richard Verschoor led the majority of the Sprint Race in Spa, but was caught by winner, Enzo Fittipaldi with just two laps to go.
He has since been disqualified from the Sprint due to a technical infringement but after the race InsideF2’s Fraser Ford had the chance to ask the drivers what they make of the level of competition in this year’s FIA Formula 2 season.
Verschoor agreed that, ‘The level this year is high in Formula 2.’ He continued:
“I think it’s one of the highest it has been. Of course, it’s easy to say when you’re there but I think almost all drivers are able to score good points so it’s good, but tough sometimes.
“As Enzo said, it can go from the best position to the worst. But it’s good and I think you also learn as a driver to always be switched on and in every circumstances you have to be up there.”
