Championship leader, Frederik Vesti believes he has a good chance at success in the Sprint Race at Barcelona. He will start third on the grid after qualifying seventh.
“We have a good car, all we need is a good start and good tyre management because it’s not going to be easy, I think”
After watching Formula 3’s Sprint Race on Saturday morning, he believes overtaking is possible.
“Clearly like previous years, Turn 1 is a good place to overtake but also creates a bit of risk, for sure but it is our job to manage that and try to move forward.”
After a Feature Race win from pole in Monaco, Vesti leads the championship. His team mate, Ollie Bearman, starts from pole position in Spain, putting him in a good position to gain some points on Vesti. Despite this he is “happy for him”.
“We took the pole last weekend in Monaco and then he did it now which is great. We need to be as close to P1 and P2 as we can every session and we are working hard to do that so from my side I’m just happy that the car is there. It shows that we are moving in the right direction and personally I need to keep improving.”
