GB4 race-winner Jarrod Waberski will step up to GB3 with Fortec Motorsport.
The South African finished second in the inaugural GB4 championship behind Nikolas Taylor and took four victories.
Waberski joins GB3 race-winner Max Esterson at Fortec and said he is delighted to be king the step up to GB3.
The 17-year-old said: “I’m super excited to be joining Fortec Motorsport in GB3 for 2023.
“They have such a fantastic heritage in UK motorsport and have always had the will to win. So together I believe we can achieve something special in the 2023 GB3 Championship.”
The South African took a double victory during the final round of the season at Donington Park for Kevin Mills Racing in his first season of racing outside South Africa.
Waberski has already tested the Tatuus MSV-022 GB3 car and is fully focused on next year’s GB3 campaign.
Fortec Motorsport Team Manager Oliver Dutton said he’s been monitoring Waberski’s results and is eagerly anticipating his GB3 campaign next season.
Dutton said: “We were able to follow Jarrod’s progress very closely this year, as he pushed us all the way for the GB4 title.
“That he was able to do so with little to no pre-season preparation was very impressive, in fact, he’s already had more experience of GB3 machinery than he did with the GB4 car before this season!
“From what we’ve seen so far, he’s definitely going to be a driver to watch as he moves up with us next year.”
Waberski became the fifth driver to be announced on the GB3 grid. After his team mate Esterson, British F4 champion and Hitech driver Alex Dunne and the Carlin duo of John Bennett and Costa Toparis.
The eight-round 2023 GB3 championship kicks off on the 8-10 of April at Oulton Park, it includes a trip to Spa and a first-ever visit to Zandvoort for the series.
