Two points separate Estonia’s Paul Aron and Frenchman Isack Hadjar at the top of FIA Formula 2 standings as the series returns to action in Spain.

The series heads to Barcelona, for what is set to be a hot weekend of racing around the punishing Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

F2 rookie Aron, driving for Hitech GP, leads the way despite having not taken the chequered flag first so far this season – while Hadjar, representing Campos, has two Feature Race wins under his belt already.

Hajdar’s Campos teammate Josep Maria Martí will be hoping for a strong showing on home soil – as will his team, who will also be marking their home race.

ART Grand Prix’s British driver Zak O’Sullivan will be seeking to build on his shock victory in Monaco, while teammate Victor Martins chases kick-start his 2024 campaign desperately needs.

Last season, PREMA Racing on both races, with Oliver Bearman winning the Feature Race from pole and Frederick Vesti victorious in the Sprint Race.

But the Italian squad have reached Round 6 without a single podium in 2024 – their best finish being fourth in Monaco (Bearman), Australia and Imola (Antonelli).
